Pay and The Role of the Pay Committee (e-learning)

Governors/Trustees are responsible for setting Pay Policies and ensuring these are operated effectively by school leaders.  They also have to make decision on individual pay for some staff and hear appeals against pay decisions.  This training takes delegates through the national and local pay frameworks and terms, so that they can make informed decisions on policy and staff pay.

At the end of the session participants will understand: 

• What effective Pay Policies look like
• The framework of pay for teachers and support staff
• Links between pay and performance
• Roles and responsibilities in making pay decisions
• How to deal with Pay Appeals
