Course description
This one-day course is for those who are the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy in their school or college. During this one-day course we will:- Look at the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (and Deputies).
- Examine the differences between safeguarding and child protection.
- Discuss what an open and positive safeguarding culture looks like.
- Explore how to embed effective policies and procedures.
- Consider how to respond to disclosures and different levels of response.
In addition, we will discuss multi-agency working, what makes a good referral, assessments and interventions, information sharing and challenging decisions.
All our safeguarding courses are underpinned by the most up to date statutory requirements for schools and colleges in Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Following on from this course you will be able:
